Transfer Application Dates and Deadlines

Learn more about important application dates and deadlines for transfer students!

If you are planning to transfer to another college or university, it is important to know the application filing period for each school you are targeting. 

California State University (CSU) Transfer Applicants

CSU campuses typically accept applications in the fall, and sometimes in the spring as well. Check majors available at CSU campuses by term for more information.

• Fall semester or quarter - apply October 1 to November 30 (some campuses/majors extended)
• Winter quarter, if open - apply June 1 to June 30
• Spring semester or quarter, if open - apply September 1 to September 30
• Note that international applicant deadlines may vary. 

Earning an Associate Degree for Transfer in a similar transfer degree for your CSU? Early in the final semester in which you are completing your degree requirements, be sure to apply for your degree!

University of California (UC) Transfer Applicants

Generally, UC campuses only accept fall applicants; however, there may be exceptions, depending on the campus as well as your chosen major. 

Fall Applicants

• Fall Transfer Application Guarantee (TAG) Program (optional, additional application) - apply September 1 to September 30
• Fall semester or quarter - apply October 1 to November 30

Winter / Spring Applicants

• To apply for winter quarter admission to either UC Santa Cruz and/or UC Riverside, apply July 1 to July 31.
• To apply for spring semester to UC Merced, apply May 1 to August 31.
• To apply for spring quarter to campuses that are accepting applications, apply October 1 to October 31.
