Involvement in student organizations and activities is one of the best ways to build leadership and interpersonal skills that will serve you well beyond DVC.

Club Resources & Requirements
-
Interested in starting a club that isn't already offered at DVC? Check out the process below and attend a mandatory training workshop. New clubs must be unique, so make sure to browse the current club list on DVCsync before getting started.
New clubs must complete registration within the first 4 weeks of the semester to become active. Clubs may not meet until their registration has been submitted via DVCsync and approved by the Student Life Office.
While approval is pending, new clubs must attend ICC; however, per ICC bylaws, the club's ICC Rep may not vote until the club is fully approved.
To register, clubs must:
- Attend a Club Officer Training workshop at the start of the semester.
- Have at least six currently enrolled DVC students (4 officers and 2 members).
- Ensure all officers are enrolled in at least 5 units with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Have an advisor who is a current DVC employee (must complete Advisor Orientation and be available to host all club meetings and activities).
- Submit a New Club Registration form via DVCsync no later than 4 weeks after the semester begins.
- Create a club constitution to submit with your registration form.
-
Returning clubs must complete re-registration each fall and spring semester within the first 2 weeks to remain active. Clubs may not meet until their renewal has been submitted via DVCsync and approved by the Student Life Office.
While approval is pending, returning clubs must continue to attend ICC, and, per ICC bylaws, a club's ICC Rep retains full voting rights during this period.
To re-register, clubs must:
- Attend a Club Officer Training workshop at the start of the semester.
- Have at least six currently enrolled DVC students (4 officers and 2 members).
- Ensure all officers are enrolled in at least 5 units with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Have an advisor who is a current DVC employee (must complete Advisor Orientation and be available to host all club meetings and activities).
- Submit a Club Re-Registration form via DVCsync no later than 2 weeks after the semester begins.
-
The Inter-Club Council (ICC) is recognized and funded by the Associated Students of Diablo Valley College (ASDVC) and made up of elected representatives from each campus club. ICC serves as a forum where clubs discuss upcoming events, vote on funding proposals, and collaborate on student issues. All clubs must have a designated ICC Rep who attends every meeting.
ICC meets in person Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in SU-204.
