Important information for FSEOG applicants

  • FSEOG is free money for college funded by the Federal Government that does not have to be repaid.
  • You must be eligible for a Pell Grant and demonstrate a need for additional money to meet the cost of your education.
  • If you have the lowest Student Aid Index (SAI) and highest need, you will be given priority for FSEOG.
  • FSEOG funding is limited and you are encouraged to apply early to increase your chances of receiving the grant.
  • Once the full amount of the school’s FSEOG funds has been awarded, no more awards can be made for that year. This system works differently from the Federal Pell Grant Program, which provides funds to every eligible student.
  • To continue receiving FSEOG, you must be enrolled in at least six units and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
