Learn more about testing accommodation services available to DVC students with disabilities.
DSS students can receive testing accommodations for in-person and online exams at the Pleasant Hill and San Ramon campuses. The request procedure for accommodated exams is the same for both campuses.
Request In-Person Exam Testing Accommodations
Taking In-Person Tests on Campus
Students enrolled in DSS and authorized for test-taking accommodations may use the "In-Person Testing" button on their DSS Canvas page 3-7 school days (not counting weekends or holidays) before every test/quiz they wish to have proctored by DSS.
Once a request is submitted, DSS will contact the student through InSite email to confirm the schedule for the test. Please check your InSite email often. Test proctoring will occur at the same campus from where the course originates, Pleasant Hill or San Ramon.
Proctored In-Person Online Exams
If your online exam is proctored in the classroom, please complete both the Online Exams/Quizzes Testing Accommodations form and the DSS In-Person Exam/Quiz form. The online form must be submitted only once per semester, and the in-person form must be submitted 3-7 school days prior to each exam (weekends and holidays do not count).
Please email Ron Tenty if you have any testing questions or if you need training on submitting the Digital Proctoring Form (DPF).
Request Online Exam Testing Accommodations
Extended Time for Online Exams
Eligible DSS students may receive time accommodations for online exams. Submit the Online Exams/Quizzes Testing Accommodation Form, and DSS will contact instructors to adjust your time setting. Please note that DVC instructors require a minimum of two school days' notice (not counting weekends or holidays) to adjust the software.
Please email Ron Tenty if you have any testing questions or do not see your time modified.
