DVC students and instructors use Canvas to communicate, share materials, post and submit assignments, and more!

Are you new to Canvas? 

  • Students are encouraged to self-enroll in our training course, Canvas Expert Badge, for an overview of Canvas features, tips and tools. 
  • Employees are encouraged self-enroll in our training course, Beginner's Guide to Canvas, for an overview of how to set up a Canvas course. 

Canvas Support for Students


    • Courses are added via InSite and automatically populate on Canvas. Your course will automatically appear in Canvas on the first day of the term. Log in to Canvas on your course start date to begin!
    • If you do not see your course, verify your enrollment on InSite, contact Admissions and Records, or directly contact your instructor. 
    • Learn more about contacting your instructor through Canvas inbox.
  • Please note: Not all faculty use Canvas for grading, so check your course syllabus for detailed information about how your instructor keeps track of grades. 

  • Your Canvas username and password are the same as your InSite username and password. If you forgot your username/password, click "Look up username" or "Forgot password" on the InSite log in page.

    • Access 24/7 Canvas Chat support. When logged into Canvas, click "Help" in the global navigation menu (far left) and select "Chat with Canvas Support (Student)."
    • Search the complete Canvas Student Guides.
    • Get peer help on campus or online through DVC's Student Centers.
    • Contact Admissions and Records to verify enrollment.
