Online Teaching Support

  • The plan’s purpose is to guide distance education development over the next five years through districtwide goals and broad strategic recommendations that support the colleges’ distance education programs. The plan also outlines clear objectives to facilitate achieving adopted strategic Distance Education goals.

  • DVC aligns and supports Contra Costa Community College District Board Policy 4014 , which outlines key differences between distance education and correspondence education as well as protocol around regular and substantive interaction (RSI), course review, approval, and certification of DE courses applicable to DVC.

  • Under Article 27, faculty teaching in a fully or partially online format will need to successfully complete an approved training in online teaching. Enroll in 4CD's Becoming an Effective Online Instructor (BEOI) course. Or, submit an equivalent training.
