Advancing Child Care Education and Student Success
Basic Information
- Project ACCESS is a bridge program partnership between Diablo Valley College and Mt. Diablo Adult Education to prepare students for college-level courses in the DVC Early Childhood Education Certificate Program.
- Summer Bridge Orientation at DVC provides a transition for adult school students registering for college classes in the fall term.
- Project ACCESS provides ESL support, college preparation skills, career training, and other support services for ESL students wanting to enter and advance in early childhood education.
- Students earn associate teacher certificates.
- Tuition assistance may be available for students qualifying for a Board of Governors Waiver.
- Textbook loans are provided
- The same textbook is used with a team of instructors collaborating on all assignments.
- Students can start at the Mt. Diablo ESL for ECE Bridge class to prepare for college classes.
- Students who are assessed at ESL-087 (High Intermediate Integrated Reading, Writing, and Study Skills) can start at DVC, taking one Early Childhood Education class with a linked ESL class per term.

Our college staff will work with you to define your career goals and the necessary steps toward employment preparation in the following ways:
- Educational counseling
- Assistance with ECE Permit applications

Complete the Project ACCESS application form and apply for admission to Mt. Diablo Adult Education or DVC so you can register for classes.

Register for your first courses and attend a Project ACCESS orientation to meet your instructors.
