Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

If you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen you may complete the FAFSA online.

Important information for FAFSA applicants

• The information on your FAFSA will be used to determine your eligibility for both federal and state financial aid.
• The FAFSA is generally available beginning October 1 each year for the upcoming academic year (starting in the fall). ALERT: Due to implementation of the FAFSA Simplification Act, the availability of the 2024-2025 was delayed to December 31st.   
• Community college students are highly encouraged to apply for the FAFSA before the September 2 priority deadline date.
• To be a eligible for federal student aid you must also meet general student eligibility requirements.

All financial aid students are required to check their DVC student email account through InSite on a regular basis in order to receive notifications, file status updates, announcements, and further instructions from the Financial Aid Office.
