You will have the opportunity to get a head start on college-readiness, learn your way around campus, discover helpful resources, and build a network of connections of peers, instructors, and staff! Submit your interest form today!
What is the EOPS Summer Institute?
A 3-week, in person, college readiness program, designed to help eligible, new incoming students transition and jumpstart their college success at DVC. Students will learn about college life and academic expectations; familiarize themselves with the DVC campus and its resources; acquire essential skills to help you succeed in college through coursework and experiential experiences; and build connections with the program staff, counselors, and other students.

When and How Long is the Program?
The Summer 2025 dates are July 21 - August 7 (Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. each day).
Program Theme of Study: Bridge to College Success
Through the examination of social issues and holistic wellbeing, this course will help students explore their own interests, and future majors and careers in the process.
In preparation for a fall college start, students will develop skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking across multiple disciplines. They will also discover college major & career paths related to the areas of social sciences, human services, education and more!

How to Join
Submit an Interest Form! The program fills quickly and spaces are limited. Once we receive your interest form, staff will follow up with next steps.
In the meantime, please apply to DVC to get your DVC student ID. And consider completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Application to see if you qualify for financial assistance.
