Health Career Academy

This course will provide an overview of educational pathways to a healthcare career as well as real world experience of working in the health care system.

Emergency Preparedness and Public Health will be heavily addressed, and explored through guest speakers and lectures. A strong online certification component (FEMA, Stanford University, John Hopkins University, NFHS, etc.) will be included and an intensive and comprehensive practical based laboratory will explore clinical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 

This class is designed for students preparing to enter college and provides basic skills as well as perspective for educational and career considerations in the field of Health care.

Apply, Submit, & Enroll

  1. Apply to DVC for Summer (Next Available Summer Term)
    1. Create a CCCOpen account and then continue on to the DVC application
    2. Receive DVC student ID# (7-digits w/o letters) via email from InSite
    3. Receive InSite and Canvas username and password via email from InSite
  2. Submit Special Admissions Recommendation Form (Starting MARCH)
    1. Only for students not graduating high school this spring or earlier
    2. Make sure you know the course number and section number you are enrolling in
    3. Must be signed by student, parent, and high school counselor
  3. Register in DVC course through your InSite Portal (Starting MAY)]
