VP Ferguson is responsible for the oversight of the student services division and serve as the campus Title IX Coordinator. She started her career at Contra Costa College in counseling and teaching within the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services department prior to joining the management team. Her management career trajectory includes serving as the EOPS/CARE Manager, and Dean of Student Services.
She joined the Diablo Valley College community in 2021 in the current role as Vice President of Equity and Student Services. She holds degrees from Alabama State University, a Historically Black College and University, and Jacksonville State University, both located in Alabama.
As a low-income, first-generation college student, she has dedicated her career to helping students achieve their academic goals to better themselves, their families, and communities. She is student-focused and leads with a team approach. Under VP Ferguson’s leadership, the 2022-2025 DVC Student Equity Plan was written and the creation of a reporting system for Title IX and other grievances. Current initiatives include mental health awareness, student leadership and basic needs.
