Sahra holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth Systems with a minor in Drama from Stanford University, and an MFA in cinema from San Francisco State University. During her master’s program, she also studied at the University of Paris and shot her thesis film there. She has lived and worked as a filmmaker in London, Edinburgh, and San Francisco. She is the program career education lead for the department of Film, Television, and Electronic Media.
In addition to teaching film production, Sahra writes and directs narrative films, often exploring themes of the female experience, science, and technology. Her films have screened at numerous film festivals around the world, and racked up over a million views on YouTube. When she’s not making films, you can find her hiking with her dog, playing with her kids, and trying new recipes.
