Professor Kelly Kadi is a full-time faculty member at Diablo Valley College (DVC), where she teaches English and ESL and is co-coordinator of the ESL program. With a passion for multicultural literature and thought-provoking discourse, she is dedicated to helping students refine their writing and achieve success toward their academic, career, and community goals.
Professor Kadi holds a B.A. in English, Spanish, and education from UC Davis, a bilingual teaching credential from CSU Sacramento, and an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Universidad Interamericana in Puerto Rico. Prior to joining the community college system, she served California as a high school English/ESL teacher and track coach.
Professor Kadi has served as DVC's AB 705 and 1705 coordinator, guiding the department in meeting legislative requirements and striving for student-centered, equitable placement and support systems.
As the ESL program co-coordinator, Professor Kadi is committed to ensuring that the program continues to evolve to meet the diverse needs of language learners. She is an advocate for students and acts as a bridge between the ESL program and interdisciplinary efforts including tutoring programs and support for international students.
Outside of her professional role, Professor Kadi enjoys exploring language and culture through travel, as well as coaching CrossFit and engaging in outdoor activities.
