Juan Huerta Villicana is a professor in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Department at Diablo Valley College, teaching classes at both the Pleasant Hill and San Ramon campuses. He holds a Master of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development from San José State University.
With 14 years of experience working with children and families across a variety of settings, Juan has built a strong background in childcare, afterschool programs, infant and toddler care, preschool education, special education, and social work. Much of his work has been dedicated to supporting undocumented migrant farmworker populations, focusing on addressing their unique needs and ensuring access to essential services and resources.
In addition to his teaching, Juan volunteers as a mentor for the PUENTE program at DVC and is an active member of the DREAMers Alliance. He is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive culture for all students.
