Christine Worsley is a dedicated leader in collegiate athletics and academic administration, currently serving as the Dean of Health Sciences and Athletic Director at Diablo Valley College (DVC). In her role, Christine has been instrumental in creating educational support systems for student-athletes, strengthening alumni relations, and integrating athletics into campus life.
Before joining DVC, Christine spent eight years at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York as an Associate Athletic Director, Senior Women’s Administrator, and Director of Sports Medicine. Her career in collegiate athletics spans over 25 years, with experience in Division I and III programs, including Hawai’i and Utah.
Christine's academic journey began in exercise science, with a focus on exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation. She worked as a clinician with cardiac patients before pursuing a certificate in athletic training and earning a Master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Utah.
At Diablo Valley College, Christine oversees several academic programs, including:
- Public Health
- Nutrition
- Addiction Studies
- Kinesiology
Beyond DVC, Christine plays a key role in statewide athletic committees, shaping legislation to enhance the student-athlete experience. She also serves as Chair of the Competition Committee for the Northern California Football Association, demonstrating her commitment to advancing collegiate athletics.
Christine is passionate about mentorship, having guided numerous interns and employees who have gone on to successful careers in athletics and academia. She believes in embracing opportunities, advising aspiring leaders to “never say NO if given the opportunity to learn and try something new.”
Her favorite quote, “Define the Moment or the Moment will Define You,” reflects her leadership philosophy and dedication to empowering student-athletes and future professionals.
