He also volunteered as a mentor for the DVC Community of Pride Mentorship program in both 2022 and 2023.

Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Shi has taught full-time as a Professor of Business Administration at DVC for nearly 20 years. The classes he usually taught included Introduction to Business, International Business, Introduction to E-Business, Social Media Marketing, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Investments, as well as Business Statistics. He served as a faculty Advisor for the DVC Phi Beta Lambda Business Club for over 15 years and won the Best Club Advisor award three times.

Before DVC, Mr. Shi had over ten years of professional experience with multinational and start-up firms worldwide, primarily in management consulting, market research, e-commerce, and financial management. He has an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and an MA in Educational Psychology from University of Nebraska. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, cooking and traveling with his family.
