Amy Lehman-Sexton serves as the Senior Dean of the DVC San Ramon Campus, where she supports faculty and staff in providing high quality student support and instruction. With over 20 years serving students in higher education, she has always focused on developing student support services and programming for minoritized communities.
Beginning her career teaching ESL and English, Amy developed an interest in helping students overcome language and communication barriers, later moving on to work in disability support services, international programs, and tutorial and writing support at both the community college and 4-year university level. Her leadership roles at other California Community Colleges include serving as Director of disability support programs, Dean of Academic Counseling, and as a Vice President for Student Services. Amy has participated in and overseen a number of college-wide initiatives over the years, including Guided Pathways and the Student Equity and Achievement Program.
Amy is originally from Ohio and has a bachelor's degree in English from Kent State University and a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching ESL from the University of Leeds in the UK. Amy is a mother to two adult college grads, both of whom benefited from the California Community College system, and two energetic, teenage step-children. She and her husband enjoy live music, playing with their dog, spending time with the family, and travelling.
