LGBTQIA+ students and allies, find your home on campus in Community of Pride!
This is a learning community specifically designed with you in mind. We recognize that it is particularly important for queer and trans students to find a safe, supportive, and loving community on campus, and Community of Pride exists to fill this need. You will take classes focused on queer-specific content and build community at DVC with like-minded students and instructors.
How Does it Work?
In this learning community, two courses are offered. The courses are themed around issues of particular interest and importance to our community: identity, mental health, history, and activism. They also help you meet your general education requirements for degree and transfer, regardless of your major!
In addition to course work, there are extra supports built into the learning community, including links to counseling, special guest speakers, workshops, and peer mentorship opportunities.
Community of Pride is open to anyone.
How Do I Sign Up?
Once you're ready to sign up, just fill out the form below. One of the coordinators will reach out to clear you to register in our classes and to schedule an education planning counseling appointment with you.
