The academic catalog is where you find detailed information about your major, its required courses, and academic policies and procedures.

The class schedule lists the dates, times, locations, and semesters courses are offered. At DVC, each semester, students log in to InSite and use our schedule builder to select and confirm their class schedule.

Hot Tip! Some courses do not require students to buy textbooks. If you see a ZTC symbol or crossed out dollar sign while browsing classes, there are no textbook or digital material costs. You may have to pay for lab or art supplies, if required.

  • New students: Apply now! Applications are processed within 24 hours.
  • Current students: Log into InSite to check your registration date and add classes on your date.

Class Formats


DVC offers a range of class formats to make fitting education into your busy life easier! When creating your schedule, read the notes to make sure you select the class format that is the best for you.

Descriptions of our class formats are included below to help you plan.

  • On campus classes meet on DVC's Pleasant Hill or San Ramon campus.  The course notes will list the days, times and classroom where you'll meet. Be sure to check which campus! (SRC = San Ramon campus) 

  • Off campus classes take place at an off-site location, including Work Experience courses that take place at a job site! In the schedule, if you see "OFF" next to a location not listed on a Pleasant Hill or San Ramon campus map, check the abbreviation list of our off campus locations below.

  • Fully online classes with no required meetings take place online through Canvas, with flexible, weekly due dates for completing assignments, discussions and exams. These courses appear in the schedule as "Off Online" or "Online (Internet instruction)" with no listed days and times.  

  • Fully online classes with required meetings take place online through Canvas and include online meetings on Zoom. These classes appear in the schedule as "Off Online" or "Online (Lecture)" with listed meeting days and times.  

  • Partially online classes include online work through Canvas and/or Zoom in addition to on campus meetings. In the schedule, you will find on campus meetings listed with days, times, and a classroom location (ex. PL 103 below) and online meetings (on Zoom) listed with days and times next to "OFF ONLINE". Pay attention to whether the location is on the Pleasant Hill or San Ramon campus.  (SRC = San Ramon campus)
