College for Kids classes will run 2 session (2 weeks each session) during a four-week period (July 13-Aug 6) as regular summer school classes at Diablo Valley College, so students gain the feel of a real college campus environment. Classes are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - no classes on Friday.

We will do our best to release an online copy of our schedule a week before registration.

Please download and print the CFK Checklist.

For Pleasant Hill campus families, we will be designating pick-up zones for students (alphabetically by last name).
College for Kids staff will be available in the designated zones to guide and monitor drop-offs and pick-ups. Any unsafe behavior witnessed by CFK staff, will be reported to Police Services.
Pleasant Hill kids who end their day with us at 4:15 p.m. and are still not picked up by 4:30 p.m. will be escorted to Police Services for pick-up.
If you cannot pick up your child within 15 minutes after their last class, and you are comfortable with them waiting for you in the Library or Media Center (those 2 locations only), please send us an email stating they are allowed to do so, without CFK supervision. Print out this email and place in your child’s backpack. Children are not permitted to be on campus alone without written permission from parent/guardian - this may lead to immediate dismissal from the program.
For San Ramon campus families, please drop-off/pick-up your child behind the campus.
All children must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after their last class ends.

College for Kids understands there are families who are comfortable with their children walking, bussing or biking to campus. Since this is outside of our drop-off/pick-up procedure, it is up to you to work with your child on this. College for Kids staff will only monitor drop-off/pick-up at designated zones.
For San Ramon families, an email will be sent to San Ramon families prior to day one.

Pleasant Hill Campus

We encourage parents to escort their child, if they can (during the first 2 days). We ask that the instructors/aides are not disrupted before, after or during class.
For Pleasant Hill families, before each period, aides will be stationed around campus to help point kids in the right direction. Each aide will wear a blue vest, name tag, and will have a radio. Sign boards will also be located around campus.
For San Ramon families, an email will be sent to San Ramon families prior to day one.
-
To receive a full refund of tuition, the class/es must be dropped at least 7 days prior to the class start date. Please allow up to 15 days for refunds to be applied.

Depending on the severity of the behavior and frequency:
1. Instructors/aides will work directly with the student in class.
2. If the behavior continues and is deemed disruptive to the other students in the class, the student will be escorted to the College for Kids office and the parent will be called.
3. If the behavior is deemed dangerous, violent, bullying, etc., the student will be removed immediately, and the parent will be called. Depending on the severity of the behavior, the student may be dropped from the program immediately for the summer.
