Welcome to the Diablo Valley College Horticulture Program!
If you have a passion for plants, sustainability, and working with nature, the Horticulture program at Diablo Valley College is the perfect place to cultivate your skills and career.
Whether you're looking to start a profession in plant science, regenerative agriculture, urban tree care or nursery management, our industry-recognized program provides the specialized training and hands-on experience you need to succeed.
For decades, local plant propagators and industry leaders have come through DVC’s program, making us a trusted name in horticultural education. Employers know that our graduates bring a strong foundation in plant science, water management, soil health, propagation, plant care and nursery management, making them highly sought after in the field.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll be part of a welcoming and supportive community. Our students describe the program as nurturing, collaborative, and a place where they feel seen, valued, and encouraged to grow—both academically and personally.
Our curriculum provides specialized training in regenerative agriculture, ensuring that students develop the skills needed to work in wholesale and retail nurseries, manage plant propagation, and promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. If you're passionate about conservation and environmental stewardship, our program will equip you with the knowledge to make a real difference in sustainable farming and land restoration.
We also prioritize career development and real-world experience. Through our strategic partnerships with local organizations and city governments, students gain access to internships, job placements and hands-on projects that connect them directly to the industry.
We invite you to join our vibrant community of plant enthusiasts, sustainability advocates, and future industry leaders. If you have any questions or want to learn more, feel free to reach out—we’d love to help you take the next step toward your future in horticulture!
