2023 Transfer Fair and Workshops
- Transfer Days/Fairs: October 25th & 26th
DVC's annual Transfer Days (university fairs) will be held in person on Thursday, October 26th at the Pleasant Hill Campus (also on Wednesday, October 25th at the San Ramon Campus). The fairs will provide students with special access to learn from over 50 UC, CSU, private university, and Out of State universities. See below for details. Click on the first tab below for a full list of who you can connect with, workshops available, and how to register.

HBCU Fair @Contra Costa College
HBCU Caravan: Contra Costa College will be hosting the California Community College HBCU Transfer Guarantee and this year's Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Caravan for the entire district. 25 HBCU representatives will table in a fair format, and host workshops for classes and the entire college on HBCU preparation, affordability, and opportunities.
How to Prepare for a Successful Transfer Day & Earn Extra Credit
Preparing for Transfer Days
1. Click on one of the links above to see who is attending and to find out more details.
2. Make a list of the universities/colleges you would like to speak with and are interested in so you have a plan.
- Make sure to budget time for each university rep, and to allow extra time for the “popular” schools.
- Broaden your horizons and approach and talk to schools you’ve never thought about. You never know if it ends up being “the one” school you’ve been looking for!
- With private schools, ask if they have need-based or merit-based scholarships. They might end up being more affordable than you think.
3. Bring a list of specific questions you have regarding the school to ask the representative so you don’t forget.
4. Bring a notepad to write down answers.
5. Ask for the university representative’s contact information in case you have follow-up questions later on.
*If your professor is offering extra credit for attending the event, visit at least 3 universities tables or attend one of the workshops. Write a 1 paragraph summary for each representative you met or presentation you visited/attended.
