All parents are encouraged to familiarize themselves and their child with the campus where their child will be attending prior to the first day of class. This can be done at your own convenience and pace.
College for Kids has chosen its instructors carefully to ensure subject matter expertise and skill in working with young people. Many were referred by teachers and administrators in local schools or by DVC staff and faculty.
Note: All College for Kids staff members (instructors and aides) are fingerprinted and cleared through the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as the Department of Justice.
Note: When planning your child's summer schedule, please pay close attention to dates, times, and fees, as there may be changes from summer to summer. Classes with the same title in sessions 1 and 2 are the SAME class not a continuation.

Classes range from $95 to $200 Tuition is due at the time of registration. A $2.00 fee has been added to each class to reflect transaction fees.

Classes with enrollment less than five students may be subject to cancellation by College for Kids, even as late as the week of start. All students are enrolled on a first-come-first-served basis.
Families and students are expected to follow the rules of the campus and program and to conduct themselves in a manner that facilitates safety and the learning process. Disruptive students will be dismissed from the program. No skateboards, scooters, or roller blades allowed on campus at any time. For security reasons, visitors and family members are not permitted in the classroom.
Students who wish to drop a class must do so no less than close of business day seven days prior to the start date of the class (no partial refunds are given,this is a self -support program that relies on fees) or they will not receive a refund. For example, a class that starts on June 11 , must be dropped by close of business (5pm) on June 4 Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive a refund, depending on payment method.
As a reminder, this is a district policy.
Parents are entirely responsible for students' transportation. College for Kids is not responsible for citations served by DVC Police Services.
Parents are expected to pick up their children no later than 15 minutes after their last class at their designated zone.For students whose last class ends at 4:10 pm and are not picked up by 4:25 pm will be escorted to Police Services in LOT 1.
Parents: If your child is only enrolled in a class(es) during 1st and/or 2nd periods, please direct your child to lots 1 or 3 for pick-up. Please do not make any other pick up arrangements with your child. If you are running late (arriving 10 minutes after your child's last class), please have your child go to Police Services in lot 1 for pick up.
If there is an unexpected emergency which will delay pick-up, please call the College for Kids office at 925-969-4600 (before 4:30 pm) or the Police Services at 925-969-5547 (after 4:30 pm). Your child will be notified and will be waiting for you at Campus Police Services.

Please report any absences or late arrivals to the College for Kids office as soon as possible by emailing CommunityEd@dvc.edu or calling 925-969-4600 (you can leave a voicemail). Our office will not contact families regarding any absences or late arrivals.
Parents who need to pick their child up early for any reason must sign them out at the CFK office (L-146). This is for security reasons and your child's safety. Please call the office in advance, so a staff member can have your child ready for you.
