Dr. Terence Elliott
Prof. of Popular Music
Dr. Terence Elliott is an educator with more than 30 years of teaching experience. He is an accomplished pianist, composer and producer. He earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in 2010 and holds a masters’ degree in Creative Arts and a bachelors’ degree in Music and Black Studies that he earned at San Francisco State University. He is a former dean of Natural, Applied and Social Sciences, president of the Academic Senate and chair of the African American Studies Department, at Contra Costa College, from 1997-2014. In the fall of 2014, he rejoined the teaching ranks as a faculty member at Diablo Valley College.
