Eligibility for the EOPS and CARE Programs

EOPS eligibility

To be considered for EOPS a student must:

  • be a California resident or qualified for AB 540 status
  • be enrolled full-time (9.0 or more units)*

*Exceptions may be made for active DSS participants with a valid unit certification.

  • qualify to receive the California Promise Grant
  • not have a Bachelor degree or higher or more than 70 degree applicable units completed
  • be educationally disadvantaged as determined by EOPS state guidelines.

CARE eligibility

To qualify for CARE a student must:

  • be a CalWORKs/TANF participant.
  • have at least one dependent child.
  • be a single-parent head of household.
  • be accepted into the EOPS program at DVC.
  • be enrolled in at least 9.0 units. Exceptions may be made for active DSS participants with a valid unit certification.
