Oct 27, 2022
In October 2022, seven students from Diablo Valley College entered the 2022 National Chinese EXPO of Student Works contest organized by the American Academy of International Culture and Education (AAICE), a non-profit organization formed by U.S. education experts and dedicated teachers.
The event aims to provide a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, competence, and passion in the Chinese language and culture. This online event is open for all U.S. K-12 and college-level Chinese language learners.
A total of over 4000 students participated in the contest either as an individual or as a group, and over 200 impressive student works were selected for online exhibition.
Six DVC students had their works exhibited on the AAICE website for public viewing during the first round of selection. During the second (final) round of selection, five DVC students’ works were selected and showcased online, and received comments from organizers during a synchronous celebration ceremony, which was held on December 11, 2022.
Professor Sheree Lin, head of DVC’s Chinese program congratulates all students who participated and gives special thanks to Professor Huiqin An (our teacher), the World Languages and Cultures Department, and the Arts and Communications Division for their great support.
DVC applauds the featured students who created these wonderful works representing our school!
