Steps to Enroll for Non-degree Students

We’re happy you’re here! Even if you don't have plans to earn a degree or transfer, you can take DVC courses to acquire new professional or personal skills. We'll help you apply, get help paying for college, get an early registration date, and get registered for the classes that most interest you. Step 1: Choose an interest area

When you apply, you'll get to choose one of our interest areas, which are related clusters of courses, certificates, and degrees. Not sure yet? No problem! Explore the possibilities in our five interest areas below.

Step 2: Submit your application

Submit your application to become a student at Diablo Valley College through CCC Apply. It’s free to apply, there are no required tests, and our acceptance rate for completed applications is 100%!

Get help paying for college

Step 3: Apply for financial aid

Even part-time students may be eligible! You might be surprised at the aid you can get, so be sure to do this right away. The review process can take time. U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who are undocumented, and qualify for AB-540 status, should fill out the California Dream Act Application.

Step 7: Submit your transcripts

If you’ve previously earned college credit, submit official transcripts from each college/university so they can be added to your DVC student file.

Step 8: Sign up for classes
