Diablo Valley College students participate in all aspects of theater through four productions each year, two in the spring and two in the fall. These include a musical and a student directed play. There are many additional acting and production opportunities throughout the year in our drama club, Dramatic Society, and with our course showcases.
DVC Drama productions have included theater favorites like “Into the Woods,” “The Crucible,” and “The Wedding Singer.” Learn more about our current and past productions on the DVC drama website.
Audience members are required to follow local, state, and CDC guidelines as described during the ticket purchasing process. Thank you for helping us keep our community healthy.
New calendar coming soon.
The Performing Arts Center (PAC) Mainstage is a 379-seat proscenium theater. It is home to many annual performances and events, including those produced by the College’s Drama, Music, and Dance Departments, along with other college sponsored events and several community performance and event groups. The large stage and full fly house accommodates small to large productions that can be supported by quality lighting and audio systems. The PAC Mainstage offers a spacious lobby for receptions or gatherings and features a pictorial history of DVC Drama. In 2013, the Performing Arts Center received all new, state of the art, luxurious theater seating. 2018 featured the opening of brand new beautiful restrooms to replace the tired, original ones! The PAC Mainstage Theater is available for rent by community groups.
The second theater at DVC Drama is known as the Arena Theater. It is home to two DVC Drama performances every year, in addition to serving as one of the main classrooms for Drama courses. Although originally designed as a “theater in the round”, the seats are removable, making it a flexible performing space and allowing seating configurations to change for each show. The theater can accommodate up to 110 audience members. The Arena Theatre is not available for rent.
