The ECE Student Resources Program, with funding from DVC Workforce Development and the Child Development Training Consortium, provides academic and financial support to ECE students. If you are working towards a Child Development Teacher Permit, an Associate Degree in ECE or BA transfer requirements, there are services available at DVC. The ECE Certificate and Degree Program Student Handbook outlines all the requirements and suggested steps to accomplish your goals. Printed copies are available outside the Student Resources office or can be mailed or emailed by contacting our office.
The Child Development Permit Matrix lists the educational and experience requirements to receive all levels of the Child Development Permit from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Application forms, assistance and fee stipends are available by contacting the ECE Student Resources office by email at mrios@dvc.edu.
Academic support services include ESL Assistance, an ECE/ESL Learning Community (Project ACCESS), individual advising to meet program and employment requirements, Child Development Permit application assistance, tuition stipends and ECE textbook loans.

The ECE Student Resources office is in room 202 on the second level of the DVC Early Childhood South Building, above the Preschool classroom. Students employed in any licensed/license exempt childcare program for children aged 0-12 can apply for a tuition stipend from our Child Development Training Consortium grant. Information is distributed at the beginning of each term in ECE classes. Application info is also available at the ECE Student Resources office and at www.childdevelopment.org.
