DVC Career Services hosts local employers on campus who are actively recruiting new hires. If you would like to visit the DVC campus to recruit students for a job or internship please complete the Campus Recruitment Registration Form each term. Students can find out which employers will be recruiting by visiting the DVC Event Calendar.
DVC Career Services also hosts an annual job fair every spring. The DVC Job and Internship Expo will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016. At this time, employer participation is through invitation only. Be sure to check our Upcoming Events and Workshops page for dates and information for all activities.
Work Experience is an academic course that allows students to earn credit for learning that takes place at their job or internship. There are three different WRKX courses. Students complete orientation and schedule two teacher meetings per term and can earn up to a total of 16 WRKX units while enrolled at DVC. DVC's online job board is the perfect place for students to begin looking for a job. We post jobs from local employers who are looking to hire DVC students! Does the student need help writing or updating their resume and cover letter? We can help with that too, as we can give them the tools for prepare for their job/internship search. And once they land the interview we can help them prep for that as well!
While many students will know what they want to do with their lives most will not. Our office offers resources for career and major research as well as access to online assessments that can help them to narrow down their search. Students can find their resources online or stop by during our drop-in hours for more personal, one-one-one assistance.
