Carmina Quirarte

Carmina Quirarte started her teaching career in southern California teaching history and humanities courses at Rio Hondo College and history at Cypress College. She is happy to return to the Bay Area where she was born and to be in closer proximity to her family in San Jose and the Central Valley. She completed her B.A. at San Diego State University majoring in both History and Mexican American Studies. She completed her M.A. at California State University, Fullerton where she completed her thesis work on the Mexican student movement of 1968 and women’s role in the movement. Carmina teaches Latin American history as well as History of California, History of the West and History of the United States: A Mexican American Perspective at DVC.
