| An Introduction to the evolving profession of dental hygiene, the conceptual framework for dental hygiene and the dental hygiene process for the promotion of oral health and wellness. The course will focus on the dental hygiene human needs conceptual model and its application to the dental hygiene process of care. While all eight human needs related to dental hygiene care will be addressed, special focus will be given to assess- ment of the human needs for integrity of the skin and mucous membrane and a biologically sound and functional dentition. In addition, dental hygiene diagnosis and identification of dental hygiene interventions will be included. CSU | ||
