This course focuses on the needs of ESL students atthe advanced level to develop critical reading and writing skills. Students will learn to identify themes and supporting details as well as to determine methods of organization and relationship of ideas in college-level materials. A primary aim is to increase students' reading fluency and to develop their ability to comprehend, interpret, and write about what they read, demonstrating relative control over conventions of written English. This course will also emphasize effective college study skills and vocabulary development.
