| This is a field identification course of Cali- fornia native plants intended for landscape professionals involving the study of California plant communities and the environments that shape them. This course is designed to acquaint the landscape design student with the dominant and typical plant constituents of each vegetation unit in California, focusing primarily on those native species currently used in the nursery industry. Habitat, soil, and climatic factors are discussed in relationship with the plant species established in their natural and horticultural environment. The focus of this offering is the assimilation of more than 200 native species into the design portfolio of horticulture students for implementation in local landscapes. CSU | ||
