DRAMA-155S Improvisation for the Stage Actor
3 - 3 Units SC
Degree Applicable
Variable Hours

This course will cover improvisational techniques that build the actor's ability to interact effectively on stage during a scripted performance. Students will work on a series of improvisations that focus on listening, seeing, and communicating with their stage partners. Students will start working with general conflict improvisations designed to build listening and non-verbal communication skills, and will progress to working on scenes from plays that have been analyzed and personalized for character development. The goal is for students to learn to listen and communicate effectively in a memorized performance through the use of improvisation. CSU
