Join a Student Club!

Student clubs and activities at Diablo Valley College are student initiated and run. The student club program on the Diablo Valley campus is an integral part of DVC's educational program. It gives students opportunities to develop valuable leadership and interpersonal skills that will benefit the student while at DVC, as well as in their future. Students learn to organize and to work with others, pursue special interests, and make friends.

Club membership is open to all Diablo Valley College students regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin or physical limitations. All clubs have mail boxes in the Margaret Lesher Student Union Building. Messages may be left for club officers in their mailboxes. You can take a look at the club list to see the variety of clubs that will be active this semester. Meetings are open to all students. Check one out!

Spring 2013 Information

As returning clubs are approved for the spring semester, we will post their meeting time and location on the bulletin board inside the Student Union Building and on the link below. You can attend any club meeting or check out the Student Life calendar to see the variety of club activities that are planned for the semester. Check back often as events can be added weekly!

Club Day

If you are interested in learning more about DVC's clubs or joining a club, then come to a Club Day! A variety of clubs will be tabling on these days to share information about their clubs. Club Days for spring will happen on February 5 and 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Quad. Additional Club Days will be scheduled throughout the semester, so please check with the Student Life Office for those dates.

RETURNING CLUBS

The deadline for renewing a returning club is January 28, 2013. Any existing club that would like to return for the spring 2013 semester must submit a "Club Renewal" form along with a signed advisor agreement by 5 p.m. on January 28. Please remember: the earlier you submit your renewal packet the better the room availability, and the sooner your club can begin meeting. All renewal packets must be submitted to the Student Life Office or for San Ramon clubs, to Ann Uawithya.

Due to staffing reductions and ongoing budget constraints, the Student Life Office will be able to process and support requests for club activities once the ICC meetings have begun. During the fall semester, clubs can submit Activity Request forms after February 18, 2013. We will not be able to accept or approve Activity Requests before this date.

STARTING A NEW CLUB

Due to the need to focus on improving and completing the Inter Club Council (ICC) code updates from fall 2012 semester, coupled with staff transitions, we are not approving new clubs for spring 2013. Please check back with the Student Life Office late April for updates regarding the possibility of new clubs in fall 2013.

INTER CLUB COUNCIL (ICC)

The ICC meetings are every Thursday from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Student Union Conference Room. The first ICC meeting for spring 2013 will be held on February 14th. All clubs MUST have an ICC Representative attend the meeting. The meetings are open to the public.
