Staff Development Program Mission Statement

The DVC Staff Development Program designs and supports professional growth activities and training for management, faculty and classified staff. The DVC Staff Development mission is to support quality teaching, learning, and support services aimed at student success. To this end, Staff Development provides the necessary resources for employees to develop and fulfill career, personal and professional needs and goals.

Staff Development supports workshops focused on topics including curriculum development, SLO development and implementation, teacher research, workplace and instructional technology, human resource issues and concerns, faculty orientation, and peer evaluation.

Staff Development offers campus-wide activities to management, faculty and classified staff on topics including health and wellness issues, student services, and campus field trips. Funding for college-wide activities which appeal to management, faculty, classified staff, students and the surrounding community is vetted through Staff Development as well.

The Staff Development conference room and computer lab are available to management, faculty and classified staff for meetings, trainings, and individual work.
