11th annual President's Exemplary Service Award for DVC Classified Staff

President's Message

April 2, 2009

One of my great pleasures, as the leader of this large and complex organization, is my observations of the tremendous dedication and tireless service demonstrated by countless staff members each day as they meet the daily challenges of offering uncompromising service to the faculty, staff and students in an environment that is often understaffed and under-funded.

So it has been immensely rewarding, to read through each one of the 16 enthusiastic and compelling nominations for the 11th Annual President's Exemplary Service Award for DVC Classified Staff.

I feel honored to have learned more about these dedicated individuals who continuously go above and beyond their regular duties and responsibilities, who have shown outstanding leadership or accomplishment within the context of one of the six strategic directions, and who promote or enhance the Diablo Valley College Vision Statement in significant ways by contributing to the positive transformation of student lives.

As you know, the President's Office has formed a collaborating partnership with the Classified Senate, and the DVC Foundation to present five (5) exemplary service awards in the following categories:

1) Clerical Support Services
2) Environment Support Services: Buildings & Grounds, Central Services, Custodial Services, & Food Services
