Diablo Valley College Softball strives to emphasize the positive impact sports has on Women's lives.  In addition to teaching and reinforcing fundamental skills, we foster core values of commitment, work ethic, respect, follow-thru and a team-first mentality.  These skills carry over into every area of life and make our team unique and supportive of each individual.  DVC Softball is a part of the Big 8 Conference, one of the most competitive in the nation.  It is our goal to provide each student-athlete with the opportunity to transfer and continue to play at the next level.

2013 team

2013 Season Preview
Led by 5th year head coach Angie Goularte, this year's team boasts a combination of talent and versatility with 8 returning players, 2 coming back from season-ending injuries a year ago, along with 6 freshman. Their willingness and ability to shuffle around to many positions to fill holes left from the previous year has given them an edge. New assistant coach Alyssa Smoke brings her experience as both a player and coach to the team this season. She has already been a huge asset to the team this year, as improvements in the players' abilities have begun to show as they adapt to her style. The Vikings will face a tough conference season, as the Big 8 sends upwards of 4 teams to the playoffs annually, more than any other conference in the state. With much optimism over continued improvements and overall gelling of team chemistry, they are set to compete with some of the best softball teams in California, a challenge they are ready to face.
