Head Coach - Cailin Mullins HEAD COACH - CAILIN MULLINS

Coach Mullins is entering her twelfth season at the head of the DVC women's soccer program.  "I am very proud of our team's consistent success both on and off the field" said coach Mullins. "Over the years we have developed a program that not only is capable of competing for conference and state championships, but also transfers student-athletes on to four year schools having had a positive soccer and academic experience while at DVC."  

Coach Mullins came to Diablo Valley College after working as the assistant women's soccer coach at Stanford University for six seasons. Prior to Stanford, Mullins was a four-year starting goalkeeper at the University of Maryland from 1990-1993. Mullins played semi-professionally in the USWISL for the Baltimore Bays and the Sacramento Storm. She holds her USSF B Coaching License and NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma.

Mullins completed her Bachelor's of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland in 1994, and her Master's of Science degree in Kinesiology - Skill Acquisition from California State University Hayward in 2001.


Assistant Coach - Alex LobbanASSISTANT COACH - ALEX LOBBAN

Alex Lobban is a former professional soccer player from the U.K. who has been coaching in the U.S. for the last 3 years. He graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2006 as a BA Hons in Media and Cultural Studies. Coach Lobban is the current Director of Coaching for Benicia Arsenal F.C. and assists on the State ODP Girls 95 team. He holds his UEFA B Coaching License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and F.A Level 2 coaching qualification. The latest addition to our coaching staff is a former England International Futsal player who has played for Walsall F.C., Bury F.C., Derby County and Aston Villa F.C. of the English Football League at professional and youth levels. This is coach Lobban's third season with the DVC program and Coach Mullins adds that Lobban is a "fantastic tactician and teacher of the game.  Alex has played a significant role in raising the standard of play for our team and has worked very hard to help bring this program to new heights."



Julio Borge is in his first season as an assistant with DVC soccer.  He is also currently the Director of Coaching of the Heritage Soccer Club.  Coach Borge brings 22 years of coaching experience to the DVC women's soccer program and currently holds a USSF B coaching license and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. A former junior college player himself, at both DVC and Los Medanos College, Borge was a youth national player in Nicaragua and competed in the San Francisco Soccer League post college.  According to coach Mullins, "Julio is an excellent addition to the program due to his lengthy coaching experience and knowledge of the talented players that we have in our area.  He will help us continue to build upon the successes we have had in developing a highly competitive junior college soccer program."
