  • Used Cars: Please donate your used vehicle: cars, trucks, boats, or RV’s to Emeritus College. Call 1-888-686-4483. We will arrange for a pick up, give you a donation receipt for your tax return, and take care of the DMV paperwork. The proceeds from the sale of your car will help Emeritus College continue to offer educational classes for older adults.

Welcome to the Emeritus College web page

If you have any questions feel free to email us at emeritus@dvc.edu or call 925-685-1230 ext. 2388. Office hours have been reduced due to budget cuts. We will be in the office Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. You can leave a message at any time and we will get back to you.

We are often asked the following:

Q – Can I take classes at any location?
A – Yes

Q – Why do you need to register ahead of time?
A – Instructors need to know how many handouts to prepare; staff needs to be sure we haven't oversold the room capacity; and if we need to cancel a class we need to know who to contact.

Q – Why is there a fee for classes?
A – Our program is a fee based one. This means all of our expenses, instructor salaries, brochure printing, staff hours, mailing and supplies need to be cover by student fees and fundraisers. We receive no outside funding.

Thank you,
Jo Mele, Emeritus College Executive Director
